The Araklis Monolith
Μονόλιθος Αράκλης
The largest of the strange standing rocks scattered through the fields below Anogi: a single weathered monolith about nine metres high, sitting on a broader slab that forms a natural pedestal. Nobody put it there — they are erosion remnants — but the effect is unsettling, and the field of smaller ones around it is worth walking through. Free, unfenced, five minutes from the village.
