Daskalopetra
Δασκαλόπετρα
The Teacher's Rock, a carved stone platform by the sea at Vrontados that tradition says is where Homer sat and taught — Chios is one of the places that claims him. Archaeologists read it as an open-air sanctuary of Cybele, which is less romantic and considerably better evidenced. Either way it is free, it takes ten minutes, and the swimming off the rocks below is good.
