East of Molyvos the coast road runs out at Eftalou, a string of pebble coves under low cliffs with the Turkish shore a few kilometres across the water. A hot spring emerges here and feeds an old domed bathhouse by the sea — hot enough that most people last a few minutes and then get into the Aegean. The beaches have no facilities beyond one or two tavernas; the water is clear and good for snorkelling.
