Moni Aegina Beach

4.6(1,653)out of 5 on Google📍 Aegina

Moni is a small, uninhabited, pine-covered islet just off Perdika, the fishing village at the south-west tip of Aegina, and its beach is the island's favourite escape. Small boats cross from Perdika harbour in about ten minutes through the summer, and the sheltered cove on arrival has clear, calm water over pebbles and sand.

The islet is a protected area without cars or houses, and the animals living there, peacocks among them, are used to visitors; don't feed them. A path climbs through the pines to a lookout with wide views of the Saronic Gulf. Facilities are basic, so bring shade, water and food, and check the time of the last boat back. On summer weekends Athenians fill it early; go on a weekday.
