Souvala is the island's second ferry port, a low-key village strung along the north coast about 6 km from Aegina town, and its beach runs in front of the seafront tavernas: a mix of sand and shingle, shallow, calm and entirely unglamorous. The village is known for the warm sulphur springs that seep out along this shore — the old thermal baths are a few hundred metres east. It is the right choice for a quiet family day, a fish lunch and nothing more; for scenery, go round to the south-west coast.
