Lalaria is the postcard beach of Skiathos: a cove of smooth, bright white pebbles on the wild north coast, closed off by steep cliffs and a natural rock arch, the Tripia Petra, standing in water of a startling blue. There is no road or path down, so it belongs to the boats.
Excursion boats from the old port of Skiathos Town sail round the north coast, usually combining Lalaria with the sea caves nearby and the ruined medieval Kastro, and stop for a swim. There are no facilities, the pebbles are hard underfoot and the north coast is exposed to the wind, so trips may be cancelled on rough days. Don't take the pebbles home; removing them is prohibited, and the beach is too beautiful to strip.
