Pedi Beach
Παραλία Πεδίου
Pedi is the bay on the other side of the ridge from Gialos, a working little harbour of fishing boats and yachts with the beach running along its head. The shore is coarse sand and shingle, shallow and sheltered, with tavernas a few steps back and some shade from tamarisks — the most practical family swim on Symi, and the only good beach you can reach by road. The bus from Gialos takes about ten minutes. It is not the island's prettiest water; for that, walk on around the bay to Agios Nikolaos.
