Antipaxos is the small island just south of Paxos, a short boat ride from Gaios: a low ridge of vineyards, olive trees and scrub, with only a handful of permanent residents and a coastline of white pebble and sand beaches over startlingly clear water. Voutoumi and Vrika, on its east side, are the ones that end up on postcards.
Most visitors come on a day trip, by taxi boat or excursion caique from Gaios, and in high season the beaches are busy from late morning until the boats head back. Go early, or rent a small motorboat to choose your own timing. Facilities are limited to a few beach tavernas and bars in summer, so check the last boat back, and do not count on anything out of season.
