Tripitos Arch

4.9(658)out of 5 on GoogleOpen · until 23:59📍 Gaios, Paxos

Tripitos is a natural rock arch in the south of Paxos, a couple of kilometres from Gaios: a great limestone bridge joining the cliff to a stack in the sea, with deep blue water moving underneath. It is the island's signature landscape and the most-reviewed sight on Paxos.

You can see it in two ways. Boat trips around the island pass below it, which gives you the full scale of the arch. On foot, a short path leads from the end of a country lane through olive groves to the top of the cliff. The ground is uneven and there are no railings, so wear proper shoes, stay well back from the edge and do not walk out onto the arch. Late afternoon light is the most flattering.
