Monastery of Saint Raphael
Μονή Αγίου Ραφαήλ
A modern monastery on a hill above Thermi, built after excavations in the 1960s uncovered graves identified with three saints killed here in the fifteenth century. It is one of the busiest pilgrimage sites in the Aegean and the atmosphere is devotional rather than touristic. Worth knowing before you arrive in shorts; shoulders and knees covered.
