Agia Paraskevi is a pine-fringed bay on the west coast of Spetses, next to Agii Anargiri, with a small white chapel of the same name at its edge and a mix of fine pebbles and sand. The water is clear, and the beach is usually calmer and less developed than its better-known neighbour, with a beach bar in season.
Literary pilgrims come for the villa above the bay, which is said to have inspired the house in John Fowles's novel The Magus; Fowles taught at the Anargyrios School on Spetses in the early 1950s. The villa is private, so admire it from the beach. Getting here means a moped, taxi or seasonal beach boat from the Dapia, as private cars are restricted on the island.
