Bisti is a pebble cove near the western tip of Hydra, framed by pine trees and rocks, with clear, deep water that is excellent for snorkelling. There is no road on car-free Hydra, so you come by boat: water taxis and a beach shuttle boat run from the harbour in summer, a ride of roughly half an hour.
The cove is organised in season, with sunbeds, umbrellas and a snack bar, and the pines give some natural shade. Neighbouring Agios Nikolaos is reached from the same side of the island if Bisti is full. Check the time of the last boat back before you settle in, and bring water shoes for the pebbles. On windy days the crossing can be lively, and boats may not run.
