Nea Michaniona Beach
Παραλία Νέας Μηχανιώνας
Nea Michaniona is Greece's second fishing port, about 30 km south of Thessaloniki, and the beach runs south of the harbour towards the tip of the peninsula. It is sandy, organised in season and open to more breeze than the beaches further up the gulf, which is why windsurfers use this stretch. The Tourbali section holds a Blue Flag for 2026. Come for the fish: the morning auction supplies the tavernas along the quay, and a swim followed by lunch here is the standard Thessaloniki Sunday. Allow 40 minutes by car.
