House of Giannoulis Halepas
Οικία Γιαννούλη Χαλεπά
The family house of Giannoulis Halepas, the sculptor whose Sleeping Woman is one of the most familiar images in Greek art, kept as a small museum in the lane where he lived. Modest rooms, his tools, casts and sketches, and the story of a career broken by illness and resumed late. It takes twenty minutes and it changes how the rest of Pyrgos looks. A copy of the Sleeping Woman stands in the square nearby.
