Volax Boulder Field
Λίθινοι Σχηματισμοί Βώλαξ
The boulders themselves, which look dropped rather than grown: hundreds of rounded granite masses scattered across a shallow basin, weathered smooth, with a few thorn bushes and goat tracks between them. Local legend makes them stones thrown by giants; geology makes them the eroded remains of a granite intrusion. Either way it is the strangest landscape in the Cyclades and takes an hour to wander. Sunset is when it looks best.
