Plan

Build a Greece itinerary

Choose up to three islands or regions and how many days you have. You get a day-by-day plan from the places in our guide — a sight, a beach and a taverna each day, kept to one part of the island — with honest transfer days between destinations. We tell you how to travel between them; for times, always check the ferry operator.

Rhodes pairs a walled medieval town built by the Knights of St John with Lindos, a sheltered sandy east coast and a wild, windy west. Big, easy to reach and good in the shoulder seasons, it rewards travellers who rent a car.

Symi is a small, steep Dodecanese island whose harbour of pastel neoclassical mansions is one of the loveliest arrivals in Greece. Come for Panormitis monastery, boat-only coves and quiet evenings once the Rhodes day trippers sail away.

Kos is a flat, sunny Dodecanese island of long sandy beaches, Hippocrates’ Asklepieion and a harbour town layered with Roman ruins and a Knights’ castle. Easy by bike, good for families, and a hop from Bodrum and Nisyros.
