Ancient Minoa
Μινώα
One of the three ancient cities of Amorgos, on the hill directly above Katapola, with an acropolis, a gymnasium, cisterns and the foundations of a temple of Apollo spread across the terraces. The site is open and unfenced; a road and then a path climb up from the port in about forty minutes. Go early — there is no shade — and the view down over the bay is reason enough on its own.
