Acropolis of Arkesini
Αρχαία Αρκεσίνη
The third of the ancient cities, on a headland at Kastri in the thin south-western arm of the island, with long stretches of well-cut fortification wall still standing above the sea. Hardly anybody comes. The walk out along the ridge from the road takes twenty minutes and is as good as the ruins, with the cliffs dropping away on both sides.
