Galataki Monastery
Μονή Αγίου Νικολάου Γαλατάκη
On a wooded slope above the sea south of Limni, the oldest monastery on Evia, now a convent. The church has sixteenth-century frescoes including a very large Last Judgement, and the courtyard with its cypresses is one of the calmest places on the island. The road along the gulf to get there is beautiful. Modest dress; it closes in the middle of the day.
