Acropolis of ancient Arkesia

Αρχαιολογικός χώρος Αρκάσας

🎟️ Free entry

On the headland beside Arkasa, the remains of the ancient city of Arkesia: wall foundations, cut marble lying in the grass and the mosaic floors of early Christian basilicas, some still showing their patterns. It is unfenced, free and takes twenty minutes. The setting — a flat green headland with the sea on three sides — is as much of the point as the stones.
