The island's second port, a small harbour on the north-east coast that serves Olympos on the ridge above. A quay, a short waterfront of tavernas, a pebble beach and the boats — to Pigadia, to the inaccessible east-coast bays, and occasionally to Rhodes. A bus climbs to Olympos several times a day. Staying here rather than in Pigadia changes the whole shape of a week on Karpathos.
