Five re-erected Doric columns with a corner of entablature still on top: the most photographed thing on Samothraki after the sea. The Hieron was the hall where the higher grade of initiation took place, a long marble building with an apse at the far end, and the surviving columns were put back up by American excavators in the 1950s. It stands on the lower terrace of the sanctuary, so you come to it last walking down from the museum.
