The shingle shore below Therma is the swim you take between walks, five minutes from the plane trees, the hot springs and the campsites. It is pebbles rather than sand, the water deepens quickly and is clear and cold, and there are beach bars and a few sunbeds in July and August. It faces north, so it catches the meltemi; on a windy afternoon the south coast is calmer. The attraction here is the setting — forest coming down to the sea — rather than the beach itself.
